So I went to the shop looking for inspiration for supper. . . But unless the dictators at home are happy with empty plates. . . I was at a loss. . .

What the heck!  There is NO flippen food!

So I walked around looking for something I can work with . . .

Meat… Only steak and lamb. . . EXPLICIT WORD!

Okay . . . Found a packet with 2 VERY thin steaks for R40.

Ummmmm there is tomato relish!  Cool . . . Maybe I will make tomato bredie . . . Hahaha!  Ja right, my two dictators will pack up and duck!

So, while walking past the Mexican shelf . . . I see nacho mix!  Okay now we’re cooking . . .

With fingers crossed I run (I DO NOT RUN… I LITERALLY RAN) to the dairy fridge . . .

Awesome sour cream!  Yes I can do this . . .

Ran (I was panting like a marathon RUNNER now) to the cheese!

Literally squealed when I saw some . . . And then had a little of a coughing fit (I really don’t exercise much).

Right, one more ingredient . . .

Please food God, let there be nachos by the chips . . . So I half hobbled, half limped to the chips. . .

Please, please, please… Oh EXPLICIT WORD! . . . There are none . . .

I literally sobbed a little . . . Okay, I panted and sobbed . . . Now what?

DORITOS. . .  DORITOS . . . OH MY GOSH . . . DORITOS!  YES!!!

Snarled at the poor lady who was reaching for a packet, grabbed two, and hobbled wildly (looked a little like Golem . . . I might have muttered “my precious” ) to a till.

Got home, cooked for 30 minutes, and BOOM!

1 meal out of 30, while the schools are closed, done!

YASSS, FANCY MOMMY!

MAMA’S KIDDIE FRIENDLY NACHOS!

Ingredients:

300g steak chopped up

1 tin tomato relish

1 packet Nacho mix

2 packets of your favorite Doritos

2 cups grated cheese

1 container sour cream

*optional

Avocado (my dictators won’t eat it)

Fresh Coriander chopped (hubby won’t eat it) sob…

Method:

Preheat oven

Brown the steak and add the Nacho mix

Add your tomato relish and cook for 20 minutes

Layer your Doritos, cheese, and steak mix

Top with cheese and bake for 10 minutes

Serve with sour cream and, if you are lucky, other toppings!

BOOM! DONE!

That folks is how you survive the shut down!
