Vernon Uithaler, from Grabouw, is a caring student and a “Stayer”!   He is currently a second-year student at Cape Peninsula University of Technology (CPUT) doing ND: Management.

Many scholars are unfamiliar with systems and working online

Vernon has gone out of his way to assist matriculants who are struggling to register on the CPUT website.  He has advertised his services on the CPUT website and their Facebook page offering these prospective learners assistance to get their online registration complete.

Many scholars are unfamiliar with systems and working online and Vernon helps them via WhatsApp, using his own time and his own data.  Although not connected online himself, he is familiar with the process and uses screenshots to talk the learners through to successful completion, and he stays in touch with them until the application has been successful.

Vernon loves giving back to the community and even advertises in his local newspaper- Elgin Grabouw Community News – that he is offering to assist any potential student of CPUT who may need assistance with the online application, to please contact him.  So far he has helped over 30 students.
