Today would have been Madiba’s 102nd birthday.  While he is no longer with us, he continues to live on in the hearts of countless South Africans.

Mandela Day, as 18 July has become known as, is a worldwide call to action that celebrates Madiba’s legacy as well as the ability each of us has to make a positive change in the world.

Nelson Mandela fought for our collective freedom for 67 years. On Mandela Day, thousands of people dedicate 67 minutes of their time to a worthy cause. Others may choose to collect 67 blankets or 67 food parcels for vulnerable individuals.  In fact, for the entirety of the day, the number ’67’ will be utilized in countless ways to spread goodwill in our country.

If you are in a position to do so, please consider making a R67 donation to one of our worthy causes.

Every donation, no matter how big or small, will directly help make a tangible difference in someone’s life.

#VouchForYou

“Like slavery and apartheid, poverty is not natural. It is man-made and it can be overcome and eradicated by the actions of human beings.” – Nelson Mandela

The Covid-19 pandemic has left our nation’s most vulnerable individuals in an even more precarious position.  Being true to their vision, #ImStaying launched the #VouchForYou campaign in late April.

Thanks to generous donations from corporate entities, as well as compassionate individuals, thousands of South African families have been given a lifeline during these trying times.

#SixtySevenSquared

“Education is the most powerful weapon which you can use to change the world.” – Nelson Mandela

South Africa is in the midst of a numeracy crisis with more than 60% of learners ending up four grades behind in maths by the time they reach the end of Grade 7.

By making a donation towards #ImStaying and Reflective Learning’s 67Squared campaign, you will directly help a child acquire valuable maths skills.

The initiative aims to sponsor 4489 (67 x 67) disadvantaged learners with an innovative and resourceful application that will help them succeed in maths.

#LayByBuddy

“Sometimes it falls upon a generation to be great. You can be that great generation. Let your greatness blossom.” – Nelson Mandela

Earlier this year the #ImStaying movement made headlines thanks to a very successful layby campaign that resulted in thousands of Pep laybys being paid for just in time for the new school year.

Now, #ImStaying and Pep have teamed up to do it all over again.  Pep has donated R1 million towards the #LayByBuddy campaign and, with your help, we can once again make a huge difference in the lives of countless South Africans this winter.
