This is a story about Sphah. I want to tell you a little bit about this fine young man who I met recently. As a wedding DJ, I spend my life at weddings and functions around our beautiful province of Kwazulu Natal, and have the pleasure of so many awesome experiences at each and every one of them. But, this experience was something else.
Sphah was a waiter at a wedding I attended that night. He is by far the best waiter I have ever seen. From a distance, I watched him head over to guests and observed his facial expressions and sincerity as he approached and chatted to them. He is also by far the most attentive (without being annoying) waiter I have ever come across. I was spinning a few tunes when he came over to my desk and asked, “Sir, can I get you some coffee and cake?”

Wait … What? I truly thought I was hearing things.
That is not all… During canapés he asked us, “Sir, can I get you something to eat and drink?” This guy brought over two mini burgers, two mini quiches, and two glasses of homemade lemonade. Really?
The point of this post is this: In life, you can give it your ALL. OR, you can just do what you are told and be average. The choice is yours. Which one are you going to choose?
This guy has so much passion, and with recently experienced LACK of service in this country, it was the most refreshing thing to see this young man go out of his way for not only me, but every guest who was at this wedding.
This guy deserves to go VIRAL!
UPDATE:
Tonight I saw Sphah again. As we made eye contact, his eyes lit up and he came over to say hello. I pulled out my phone and showed him this post on #ImStaying. He took my phone out of my hand and read the post out loud to his manager and colleagues with the biggest grin on his face. Friends and family… thank you for sharing! Sphah is on Facebook and as soon as he connects with me, I’ll introduce you to him.
